Yarmouth
Yarmouth is known as the gateway to Nova Scotia from the United States. Two ferries run daily in the summer months, one from Boston and the other from Portland Maine.
Yarmouth is a historic seaport which hosts a treasure chest of attractions to the visitor or local population. During the summer months activities are planned almost daily for the traveller. Any where from open air concerts with local talent to plays at our local theater. There are three cinemas available nightly. Many local clubs and restaurant serve the public. Just go to the local tourist bureau and they will give you information on anything you are interested in.
Take a ride north on highway #1 to the french shore where you will find friendly people and wonderful food at local restaurants. At sunset, take a long walk on Mavillette beach.
One of the most beautiful and basically private beaches around. Walk away from the houses and you will find small water falls and cliffs climbing to 300 ft or so.
There are no gay/lesbian clubs to speak of but The Redknight, on Saturday nights and The Little Brook Social Club(45 minutes away on the french shore} , on Friday nights are the places to be. Dance and party to your hearts content.
